The Kotzker Rebbe says an unbelievable thing.
Everyone has times in life when they go through hardships.
Every individual in life has his tests.
Everyone goes through situations that are tough. And everyone complains about their problems and challenges.
But the Kotzker Rebbe says: Imagine if you could take everyone’s complaints, everyone’s hardships, challenges and tests, and put them in the middle of Times Square. Imagine if you would take all of the tzarot, all of the pain and challenges with parnassah, shidduchim, marriage, raising children and everything else, and put each person’s “package” into a bag. If everyone did that and all of the bags are placed in a huge pile in Times Square, and everyone is given a chance to choose one package of yissurim and tzarot, which one would a person choose?
Says the Kotzker Rebbe: I bet you that every single person will grab his own baggage.
Every person will grab his own bag of yissurin for himself. No one is going to choose someone else’s pain. No one is going to choose someone else’s difficult situation in life. No one wants somebody else’s tests.
After all of the complaining, every person will want his life back. Everyone will want his situation and his difficulties.
Why?
Because Hashem instills every individual person with a unique nature that is personalized for him to have the kochot and capabilities to endure the challenges that he is going through. Everyone is given the ability to pull through.
Hashem never tests a person with a challenge that he cannot overcome. If you are going through any challenge and it is very, very tough, just remember that Hashem provided you with the tools and strengths that you need to overcome, defeat the yeitzer hara and pass the test you are going through.
