As the Community Outreach Coordinator for QBSP-Shmira, I was successfully able to work with Community Affairs Police Officers Kevin McCarthy and Tim Gorman of the 107th precinct to ensure safety at the mega Sukkos concert held on Tuesday, October 3 in front of the Queens Public Library of Kew Gardens Hills. The on-street festivities drew 2,500 celebrants to a joyous Simchas Beis Hashoeva in honor of the third night of Chol HaMoed. Singing sensation Avi Peretz took a short reprieve from his musical duties in Mexico to ignite the Jewish spirit of the chag on Main Street. Thanks is extended to Chabad of Flushing, JIQ, BJCC, Chabad Ohr Avner, and Yeshiva Lubavitch of Queens for once again uniting the community in song. A detailed article will follow.
