The Briarwood Jewish community united this past Sunday for a special hachnasat sefer Torah presented by the Nisanov family in honor of the life, health, and longevity of their family. On behalf of Queens Shmira Nesanel Schechter and myself honorably led the procession from the family's 85th Drive residence to the Young Israel of Briarwood on Daniels Street where the Torahs of the Rabbi Siman Tov Yanetz' Bukharian Jewish Cong. of Briarwood were waiting to greet us. A lavish seudah catered by Meal Mart on Main Street followed that included the writing of the Torah's final letters.
The Torah will iy"H be used in another area of Queens at the Youth Minyan of Bayswater led by the donor's cousin, Rabbi Daniel Baybachayev of Yeshiva L'man Achi.
