In a spectacular display of achdut and appreciation, Emet Outreach recently held its largest Charidy campaign to date and successfully raised over 1.5 million dollars. The campaign showcased the “Emet Effect,” the incredible impact the organization has had on individuals, families, and the Bukharian community for over 21 years. “We would like to thank our devoted students, alumni, community partners, family, and friends,” said Rabbi Akiva Rutenberg, Emet Co-Founder and CEO. “In true partnership, the campaign had 215 teams and over 2,300 individual donors. This unwavering support for Emet’s work enables us to continue igniting the sparks of Jewish identity that set in motion a strong Jewish future.”
Following Emet’s milestone 20th anniversary last year, this campaign demonstrated that Emet’s mission is more relevant than ever. Emet continues to be an essential catalyst for Jewish growth by reaching unaffiliated college students in their most formative years and providing them with the education and guidance to build their own Jewish families. What starts on campus ripples outward, and the Emet Effect is seen across generations – with children of Emet’s earliest alumni now participating in Emet programs. As of today, there are over 8,000 students impacted, 25 weekly programs and four dynamic divisions that provide non-stop programming and learning every month.
During the campaign, there was a special focus on Emet’s Campus Division in light of the unprecedented challenges Jewish students face on a daily basis. Emet is on the frontlines of campus student support, and enrollment in the introductory Leaders Fellowship has been at an all-time high. Emet gives a voice to current college students who share their personal impact stories on the main video, as well as on the “Let’s Get Reel” Instagram video series. In addition, Emet debuted a three-part podcast hosted by Alex Niyazov. Available on EmetTorah.com, the podcast features compelling conversations with Emet team members Rabbi Rutenberg, Sara Benyamin, and Rabbi Reuven Kigel. They were joined by esteemed alumni Boris Musheyev and Daniel Matatov. Stay tuned for further podcasts in the coming months.
