Queens Cheder’s Pre-1A class celebrated a beautiful Chumash Mesibah on a recent Sunday, as the boys proudly sang loudly and clearly for their families and rebbeim.
The special program marked an important milestone in the boys’ Torah learning. In parashah, the class learned about Pesach Sheini and the lesson that a person should feel upset when losing the chance to do a mitzvah. They also learned about Miriam, who was punished with tzaraat for speaking lashon hara, reminding the boys how careful we must be with the words we say about others.
The class also discussed how Hashem rewards every good deed. Just as Miriam watched over Moshe Rabbeinu when he was a baby in the river, Hashem later honored her by having all of klal Yisrael wait seven days for her.
The Pre-1A boys also had an exciting “in” week, practicing reading words with the “in” sound and switching letters to create new words. They worked on telling time, including the half-hour clock, and were introduced to word search sheets, which they completed beautifully.
The Chumash Mesibah was a meaningful and joyful celebration, highlighting the Pre-1A boys’ growth in Torah, reading, and learning.
