The month of July was a time of deep inspiration and spiritual connection for the young women of Orot, as the organization continued to provide meaningful programming that empowers and uplifts the next generation of Jewish women.

Orot’s popular Wednesday night classes continued throughout the month, featuring impactful shiurim by Rabbi Yitzchak Aminov on topics such as Respect, The Power of Tears, and the emotional depth of Tishah B’Av. The girls also welcomed guest speaker Rachel Shechter from Passaic, who gave a moving talk on the power of generosity, and were inspired by dating and marriage coach Malka Klaver’s dynamic workshop, “3 Tips to Date with Confidence and Clarity.”

Adding to the summer programming, Orot launched a special Brunch N’ Learn Tefillah series on Sundays. This new initiative brought together delicious food, warm camaraderie, and uplifting Torah learning.

The speaker lineup included Mrs. Miriam Krohn (wife of Rabbi Paysach Krohn), Rebbetzin Ivy Kalazan, and Rabbi David Delman, each of whom offered heartfelt insights on strengthening one’s connection to Tefillah. Every session concluded with a Tefillah Challenge, motivating participants to put their inspiration into action. Girls who completed the challenges enjoyed fun rewards, including ice cream trips, bowling, and a special group lunch.

Looking ahead to August, Orot is excited to continue its mission of inspiring Jewish growth, with a Tu B’Av Singles Challah Bake and an End-of-Summer Retreat already in the works. These events are designed to foster community, connection, and continued elevation for all who attend.

As one Orot participant shared,

“Being part of Orot makes me feel proud to be a Jewish woman. The classes connect me to my roots and help me grow closer to Hashem every week.”

In the words of a classic Bukharian saying:

“Э мурадин айла, кы йод амале.”

“With guidance comes blessing, and with knowledge comes purpose.”

Orot continues to build that bridge—connecting our rich Bukharian heritage with the spiritual growth of today’s young women.
