Over the past two weeks, children across more than 15 locations of Chazaq’s Shaping Lives Division participated in a series of hands-on programs celebrating Jewish identity, Torah values, and connection to Eretz Yisrael.
In the lead-up to Shavuot, classrooms were transformed with flower-themed crafts inspired by the custom of decorating for the Yom Tov of Matan Torah. Children designed wooden picture frames decorated with bright flowers, colorful gems, and vibrant artwork, proudly displaying their creations throughout the programs.
Boys and girls also worked on coloring projects featuring Torah scrolls, crowns, and other symbols connected to the giving of the Torah. The activities blended creativity with meaningful discussion, helping the children connect to the themes of the holiday in an engaging and memorable way.
The week prior, the children created and colored Israeli flags, filling the rooms with blue and white while learning about their connection to Eretz Yisrael. Many proudly waved their handmade flags and posed with them alongside friends and staff members.
Through interactive programming across Queens, Chazaq’s Shaping Lives Division continues to create environments where children can strengthen their Jewish identity through warmth, creativity, and positive experiences. The projects gave participants an opportunity not only to celebrate Shavuot and Israel, but to build a deeper connection to Torah, community, and Jewish pride.
